Keel Top Plate Milling

Well, 4 hours of standing around the end mill, brushing water soluble oil on the cutter, and the top plate of the keel has a perfect chamfer! This took an amazing amount of time in my eyes. I am now dreading the more complex cuts of the keel.

The models were epoxy micro-balloon filled and faired just like the real boat. I am still waiting for the kit from South Carolina, the wind vane from South Africa and now hatches from New Zealand. The stainless steel pack just arrived from China. This is already a global adventure.
